FAQ - Shipping

Find answers to recurring questions and myths about Citadel.

Q: Can I buy a ShootDown deer blind without the steel tower?

A: Because of safety concerns regarding homemade towers, we will not sell ShootDown deer blinds without a steel tower.

Q: Why are ShootDown tower stands made with steel towers instead of wooden legs?

A: Citadel ShootDown tower stands are manufactured with 1/4" x 2" hot-rolled angle-iron steel tower legs that have been tested and shown to meet or exceed industry strength standards. This measure of safety is not possible using wooden legs.

Q: How will you ship my new stand?

A: Because of the size and weight, we ship ShootDown TowerStands via Hotshot Truck and Trailer or LTL shipping.

Q: How are shipping costs determined?

A: The cost to ship your new TowerStand is a flat rate based on mileage. Any additional blinds shipped at the same time are usually shipped to you free of charge.

Q: Can I pick up my new ShootDown at the factory?

A: Absolutely. Call us and we will let you know what sort of equipment you will need for transportation and assembly/setup.

Q: How long will it take me to assemble my new deer blind?

A: Citadel ShootDown deer blinds are a single, solid unit and are fully assembled at the factory. There are no parts to lose, seams to leak, or joints to squeak. No assembly required. Those are just a few of the benefits of our fiberglass "unibody construction" techniques.

Q: How long will it take me to assemble the steel tower and erect the entire tower stand?

A: Your Citadel ShootDown TowerStand is a substantial structure, not a toy from China! Proper assembly and setup usually takes one to three hours. The time required is diminished considerably with extra help and more experience. It is, of course, essential that you read and are familiar with the instructions prior to assembly, and that you have the necessary equipment on hand. One thing we've noticed - the first one always takes the longest!

Q: Will y'all set up my new ShootDown?

A: Yes. We've become pretty good at setting these up. There is, of course, a nominal charge.

Q: Should I fasten my ShootDown TowerStand to the ground?

A: Absolutely. We recommend that you use four stakes in the legs, two in the ladders, and at least one earth anchor with strong cables. Properly anchor it as soon as you put it up.
